Who Qualifies in Minnesota?
Social Equity Status
Social Equity Eligibility:
To qualify for social equity status and potential grant funding, individuals must meet at least one of the following criteria:
Criminal Justice Impact: A personal or family history of cannabis-related convictions before May 1, 2023.
Military Service: Veteran status, including those with dishonorable discharges due to cannabis offenses.
Disadvantaged Community: Residing in areas heavily impacted by cannabis enforcement, poverty, or social vulnerability for at least five years.
Agricultural Background: Proven experience in farming for at least 3 years with specific sales requirements.
PREPARATION IS THE KEY.
Once Verified as a Social Equity Applicant
You'll need to submit a detailed preapproval application. This includes:
Business Ownership and Financial Information
Security, Business, and Labor Plans
Detailed Operating Procedures for Quality, Inventory, Accounting, and Employee Training
Specific operation plans based on your desired license type (cultivation, retail, etc.)
